Elmren Voice clones your voice from one short, clean recording — made and stored entirely on your Mac. Only voices you own or have explicit permission to use: record yourself, or a family member with their consent, for an audiobook, a follow-along page, or a read-aloud. The recording never uploads, the voice never syncs, and the result is reusable in every project.
The recipe
- Six to ten seconds, in a quiet room. Clean input beats long input — a short, noise-free recording wins every time.
- Start on a sentence boundary. The sample should begin cleanly at the start of a sentence, not mid-word.
- Match the transcript, word for word. Read a line and keep its transcript exact — the app checks one against the other.
A quality gate, before it ships
A bad take never silently becomes a voice. Before a recording is accepted, the app checks it — and tells you what to fix:
- ✓Too short? It asks for another take.
- ✓Background noise? It says so, instead of baking it in.
- ✓Transcript mismatch? It flags where the words don't line up, with per-sentence retry.
Two gears: fast and quality
The cloning engine comes in two tiers — fast for trying things out, quality for the keepers. Both run locally on the Mac; the difference is polish, not privacy. No benchmark numbers on this page — your ears get the final vote, and previewing a voice takes one click.
It never leaves this Mac
The recording, the cloned voice, and everything you make with it live in a data folder on your Mac. There is no account, no cloud voice library, and no sync — the network is used only for the one-time pack download, Paddle license checks, and files you choose to send yourself.
